Masticating Juicer Review

Nama J2
Review

The auto-feed cold press that changes how you juice.

The Nama J2 isn't just a good juicer — it's a different way of juicing. You load the hopper with your whole recipe, turn it on, and walk away. No pushing, no babysitting. For people who juice daily and have been standing over their machine hand-feeding produce, this is a genuine quality-of-life shift.

It also backs that convenience with real yield numbers and a 15-year warranty. The $550 price is real too — here's whether it's worth it for you.

Nama J2 cold press juicer with auto-feed hopper

Auto

FEED HOPPER

Load your whole recipe in the hopper, press start. No pushing, no hovering. The J2 self-feeds from a batch — genuinely hands-free once it's running.

72hr

SHELF LIFE

Cold press juice from the J2 stays fresh up to 72 hours refrigerated. Batch-juice Sunday, drink through Tuesday without noticeable quality drop.

~$550

STREET PRICE

$250 more than the Omega NC900. The premium pays for auto-feed convenience and a newer vertical design. Whether that's worth it depends on how you juice.

Who This Juicer Is For

Buy this if:

  • • You juice daily and want to load it and walk away
  • • You batch-juice — prep once for multiple days
  • • You want top-tier yield without twin-gear complexity
  • • The 15-year warranty matters and you're comfortable with a newer brand
  • • Counter space is limited — the vertical design is compact

Consider the Omega NC900 instead if:

  • • You want 15+ years of real-world durability data behind your machine
  • • Multi-function matters — nut milks, pasta, sorbets
  • • Budget is a real constraint and $300 is the right number
  • • You juice spontaneously rather than in planned batches

What Works

  • +Batch auto-feed is the real deal. The hopper holds a full recipe — you load, press start, and the machine processes everything without you hovering over it. If you've used a standard masticating juicer, you'll notice this immediately.
  • +Very good greens yield. Better than most vertical masticating juicers on leafy greens — competitive with horizontal models like the NC900, which usually win this category.
  • +15-year warranty. Nama matched Omega on warranty right out of the gate. That's a confidence signal for a newer brand.
  • +Endorsed by Joe Cross. The Fat Sick & Nearly Dead documentary creator uses and recommends the J2. Relevant if you're coming from that community.
  • +Compact vertical footprint. Stands tall rather than running long — takes less counter space than horizontal masticating juicers.

What Doesn't

  • Newer brand — limited long-term data. The Omega NC900 has 15+ years of daily use data from real users. Nama is newer. The warranty is there, but we can't yet say "I've seen these run for a decade" the way we can with Omega.
  • Batch-load concept requires planning. The auto-feed hopper is great if you prep your recipe in advance. If you juice spontaneously — grab what's in the fridge, juice it now — the standard push-feed workflow of the NC900 is actually faster for small quantities.
  • Price premium. $550 vs. $300 for the NC900. The auto-feed convenience is real — but you're paying for it.

How It Compares

vs. Omega NC900 (~$300)

The NC900 is $250 cheaper with 15 years of real-world data behind it. Yield is comparable on most produce; the NC900 edges ahead on wheatgrass and tough fibrous greens due to the horizontal design. The J2 wins on auto-feed convenience and vertical footprint. If convenience is the priority, pay the premium. If reliability track record is the priority, the NC900 earns its reputation.

vs. Kuvings REVO830 (~$650)

The REVO830's 3.2" feed chute is a genuine differentiator — whole apples and beets, no pre-cutting. The J2's auto-feed is a different kind of convenience. Kuvings wins on prep elimination; Nama wins on batch-processing workflow. Both are strong vertical masticating juicers at the top of the category.
