Twin Gear Juicer Review
Greenstar Pro
GS-P502 Review
The Elite's commercial-grade sibling — built for daily volume.
The Greenstar Pro uses the same jumbo twin gear system as the Elite — bioceramic and magnetic technology, ultra-low RPM extraction — but adds NSF commercial certification, a 15-year warranty, and a reverse function for clearing jams on fibrous produce. If you're running the machine daily through serious volume, the Pro is the one that won't let you down.
The ~$650–700 price is roughly $100 more than the Elite. Whether that's worth it comes down to one question: how hard are you actually running this machine?
15yr
WARRANTY
Three times the Elite's 5-year coverage. The Pro's warranty matches the best single-auger competitors, so you're not giving up longevity protection to get into twin gear.
NSF
COMMERCIAL CERTIFIED
The Pro meets NSF commercial sanitation standards — the same certification commercial kitchens require. Meaningfully tighter tolerances on the seal and gear contact surfaces.
~$650
STREET PRICE
~$100 more than the Elite. Less than the Super Angel 5500. Sits cleanly in the middle of the twin gear price range.
Pro vs. Elite — Who Actually Needs the Pro?
Buy the Pro if:
- • You're juicing daily at volume — pounds of produce, not occasional use
- • You're doing a structured juice feast or extended cleanse protocol
- • Warranty matters — 15 years vs. the Elite's 5 is a real difference for a primary machine
- • You process a lot of fibrous greens and want the reverse function for jam recovery
- • The NSF commercial certification matters to your household or practice
The Elite is enough if:
- • You're juicing a few times a week, not daily
- • You want twin gear performance without the commercial-grade premium
- • Your produce mix is standard — leafy greens and wheatgrass, nothing extreme
- • Budget is tight and $100 is meaningful
The honest take: If you're running a juice feast — daily quarts, pounds of produce — the Pro pays for itself in durability and warranty coverage. If you're juicing a few times a week, the Elite delivers the same extraction at a lower price.

What Works
- +Reverse function is genuinely useful. Fibrous greens — kale stems, wheatgrass, tough sprouts — can slow the gears. The reverse function clears jams without disassembling the machine. On heavy daily use, this saves time every week.
- +Same twin gear extraction as the Elite. Jumbo stainless gears, bioceramic and magnetic technology, same 80 RPM extraction. The Pro doesn't change the extraction mechanism — it upgrades the durability and certification around it.
- +15-year warranty closes the gap on masticating. The Elite's 5-year warranty was a weak point vs. Omega and Nama. At 15 years, the Pro removes that objection entirely.
- +NSF commercial construction. Tighter tolerances, commercial-grade materials. You feel it in the weight — 26 lbs is heavier than the Elite, but that's the signature of a more solid build.
What Doesn't
- −Same cleanup commitment as the Elite. More robust construction doesn't make it faster to clean. 15–20 minutes, two gears, multiple screens. That's the twin gear tax regardless of which model you choose.
- −Heavier than the Elite. At 26 lbs, this machine lives on the counter — not the cabinet. If storage is a constraint, that's relevant.
- −No stainless exterior vs. Super Angel. The Pro is heavier-duty than the Elite but still uses some plastic exterior components. If all-stainless construction is the goal, the Super Angel 5500 is the machine.
How It Compares
vs. Green Star Elite GSE-5050 (~$550)
Same extraction technology, same gear system. The Pro adds NSF certification, 15-year warranty (vs. 5), and a reverse function. If you're juicing daily at volume, those upgrades justify the extra $100. For moderate use, the Elite performs identically at lower cost.
vs. Super Angel 5500 (~$900)
The Super Angel goes all-in on all-stainless SUS-304 construction — zero plastic in the juice path. The Pro costs ~$250 less and delivers comparable extraction. If material purity is non-negotiable, go Angel. If the warranty and commercial build are enough, the Pro is the better value.
